1970s fireplace redesign

1970s fireplace redesign

Replacement of 1960's stone fireplace with Woodwarm Stove.

Our clients, a retired couple, wanted a stove to keep in continuously to radiate warmth throughout their bungalow and enable the central heating use to be minimised. In this case we specified a Woodwarm Fireview slender 7kW stove which was ideally suited to the purpose, and the stove has given a wonderfully warm and welcoming feel to their home.

We removed a 1960's stone fire surround to create a simple open chamber fireplace using the customers' existing shelf to make a new mantel and new corbels. The chamber was competed with a slate hearth and set of slate slips round the opening.
