Limestone fire surrounds

We use both English and European Limestones. These are attractive and durable, natural materials. English limestone is coarser and more open grained then European limestones. They are of a familiar creamy colour with organic variations in shade and texture. Unlike fireplaces made using cast or reconstituted stone, your fireplace will have unique natural veining and texture.

Marble fire surrounds

Marble begins life as limestone. The carbonate is metamorphosed and re-crystallised under the action of intense geological heat and pressure to become marble. It is a tough, decorative and noble material used in the finest architectural work, and its polished surface is easy to clean.

Micro Marble fire surrounds

Micro or composite marble is a manufactured stone which is tough and consistent. Available in a wide variety of colours and textures, it can be worked and finished to a high gloss.

Slate fire hearths

Slate is tough, resistant to heat and yet relatively soft. The natural dark sheen can be given a silk finish when polished with slate oil. Slate is a traditional material for fireplaces which is often embellished with marbled or veined paint effects.

Granite fire hearths

Granite is a hard, glossy, dark and very durable stone, rich in natural minerals and slowly crystallised from cooling molten magma. Granite is particularly suited to hearths, where it will add style and substance to any fireplace
