Inset Stove with Slips and Woodstore
Replacement of 1950s brick fireplace with clean and contemporary design for inset stove.

Inset Stove with Limestone Slips and Woodstore

The principal part of a major refurbishment of a small cottage sitting room, the job included the removal of a tired brick fireplace, modification of the chamber to incorporate a wood store lined in slate and the installation of a Stovax Riva 40 cassette inset stove rated at 5 kW.  The flue was lined with a stainless steel chimney liner. The Riva stove is framed with honed limestone slips, and the stone shelf is made from the same natural material.

This efficient and economical stove will use about only one third as much fuel as an open fire, whilst eliminating draughts from the open chimney, and is capable of keeping the room snug and warm on the coldest of Winter evenings.
