| Studio Gas Fire with Stone Shelf | |
|
Wide aspect gas fire Our customers had a large, attractive interconnecting lounge and dining room that lacked a focal point. We designed and built a well proportioned chimney breast with a very efficient landscape gas fire. This design was complemented and enhanced by a pair of offset natural limestone shelves. The lower limestone element doubles as a hearth and a bench storage area, whilst the upper piece provides a contemporary reference to the traditional mantel shelf. TVs and gas fires do not mix well, and care has to be taken over the design of fireplaces with screens above. We liaised with the customers’ TV specialist to provide fixing points for the flat screen TV, and the installers were satisfied that the screen would not be affected by the heat from the fire. The upper shelf serves to deflect convected hot air. Fire: Gazco Studio 3 balanced flue fire with logs, edge design. 9.3kW input, 81% efficiency. Sophisticated fire, programmable remote.
