Contemporary replacement for old Jetmaster

Contemporary replacement for old Jetmaster

Elegant, contemporary replacement of dated Jetmaster Gas Fireplace.

A very modern house, light and airy, built in the 1970's, with a gas fired Jetmaster. The design looked tired, the fire was inefficient, and the chimney had been taken down a few years earlier as it did not work reliably because of adjacent buildings.

The solution was to remodel the corner fireplace, excavate the old fire and flue, and build in a Gazco Studio 2 fire into the corner space, and replace the exposed brickwork (very 70's!) with plastered walls and marble panels. A photoshopped image (see pictures) satisfied the client and the final outcome was exactly as planned.

The large fire is an effective room heater, very efficient, and the balanced flue meant that we did not need to reinstate the chimney, with possible downdraughts and heat loss.

Our clients were delighted with the end result. "We should have done this 15 years ago"
