Somerset Farmhouse Inglenook

Somerset Farmhouse Inglenook

Restoration of farmhouse inglenook fireplace. Removal of Rayburn, restoration of stonework and installation of a modern wood burning stove.

An extensive restoration project on an 18th century farmhouse. Work included removal of an existing Rayburn, excavation of the original inglenook and modern blockwork removed. The stonework was repaired, we laid a flagstone hearth, stonework joints raked and pointed with lime mortar.

Finally we installed a large Vermont Defiant stove, including 8” liner system with a large register plate inside the inglenook.
