Suspended Shelf with pebbles

The customer was looking for a clean, minimal design. Replacing a traditional 30's tiled fireplace, this design succesfully emphasises the strong horizontal lines of the room.

The work involved removal of the old fireplace, modifications to the fireplace opening to raise the chamber and lintel. The fire with pebbles is framed within a mirror stainless steel base, and is installed into a 22" ceramic back to increase efficiency. Normal operation is with a remote control. The shelf is supported with concealed brackets, designed to take a 30kg load on either side.
